Overseas Students

Perhaps you are a class of overseas students visiting London and need a guide who will introduce you to London's history, culture and entertainment.  Tales of Henry VIII, Lord Nelson, Queen Anne, Oliver Cromwell and many more come to life through educational and enjoyable demonstrations as students bring these characters to life!  The key to these tours is interaction and your knowledge of English practised on the tour.

If you need a break from your language classes and wish to use English in a challenging yet fun way, book a drama class!  They include:

  • An Introduction to Shakespeare
  • Acting Techniques
  • The West End Musical
  • Improvisation

Themed Tours & Pub Crawls

I also operate private group tours of London based on a wide variety of themes.  Perhaps you have an idea or a theme that you want to base a tour on or only have a short time here and want to see as much as you can in that allotted period.....well I can work out a tour based on your theme (advance warning necessary though!) and taking the stress out of your trip.

The tours offered are environmentally friendly walking tours using public transport where necessary.  Your guide will be with you for the entire tour, taking you to and from your areas of interest using shortcuts and negotiating the transport system if needed.  Previous groups have included students, stag and hen parties, senior citizens, US tour parties and groups of people looking for fun!

Some of the successful group tours I have conducted include:

Hidden Holborn.  Discover what this exciting and historic area offers visitors.  Included in this tour are 2 little known yet fascinating museums, several historic churches, one of London's oldest and largest squares, the famous inns of court and much, much more.

The Old Southwark Pub Crawl.  Perhaps you want to visit the area on the south bank of the Thames known in Elizabethan times as "The Stew" and enjoy a few drinks along the way in some of London's most historic pubs.  Listen to terrible tales of murders and cruelty as we pass "The Clink", The Golden Hinde, Southwark Cathedral and London Bridge.  You'll need a drink to calm the nerves!  This is a night tour!

Other Pub Tours including a City ghost tour in the evening or Theatreland Tour.

South Bank Tour.  Take a leisurely stroll along the the river Thames from Westminster Bridge to Tower Bridge and listen to fascinating stories along the way.  This is one of my favourite walks and there is so much to see and can take a morning/afternoon or all day depending on how much time you want to spend and whether you want to visit some of the many attractions along the way including The Tate Modern, Shakepeare's Globe Theatre, The London Eye, Southwark Cathedral and many more....

Introduction Tour.  Perhaps you haven't been to London before or don't have much time here, well, this two part tour offers visitors a guided introduction to some of London's most popular attractions.  The first part will take you to the city of Westminster where you will see all the important sites including Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square and much, much more as we spend half a day in this part of London.  The second part of the tour is the old city of London where you will see St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, The Monument, the Roman Wall and alot more besides!  These tours are half day tours and can be taken on the same day (if you have the stamina!) or over a couple of days!

Jack the Ripper Tour. This evening tour takes you back to 1888 and the terrifying reign of Jack The Ripper. See some of the murder sites and the pub where his victims drank! Listen to the horrific details of each murder, the numerous conspiracy plots and who Jack may have been. Walk down alleyways that Jack and his victims used. Prepare to be spooked!

The Royal Tour.  London is the official home of The Queen.  Previous monarchs have lived in a wide variety of palaces, some still standing, others largely forgotten.  This tour will take you to many royal landmarks past and present.  Along the way you will hear stories of the great and the good plus hopefully have a photo taken with one of the Queen's soldiers!

Ghosts and Executions Tour.  London is a very haunted city.  On this evening tour you will hear tales of horrific murders and bloody executions, see the site of the notorious Newgate prison, wander through the city's many medieval alleyways and stand in one of the bloodiest squares in the world!

London Markets Tour.  The capital has an assortment of unique markets selling a wide variety of goods. Many of them are housed in wonderful imposing structures.  Covent Garden, Camden, Spitalfields, Borough, Leadenhall and Portabello are world famous and this tour will take you to at least three of them and allow time for shopping!

London's Royal Parks Tour (The Lungs of London!)  The metropolis is very fortuante to have so many green public spaces which allow the city to breathe.  This walk will take you through St James's Park, Green Park and Hyde Park where you will hear about their origins, their interesting (& sometimes bloody!) history and how they have managed to adapt and perform a function for 21st Century London.
